Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District Seeks New Principal, 3 Teachers
The school district is looking to fill several positions for the upcoming school year.
The 2012-2013 school year will feature many new faces, and not just among students. According to AppliTrack, the web-based software used by the district for career opportunities, several administration and teaching positions are vacant. These openings follow a somewhat turbulent few months of resignations and rotations.
The district is currently looking for a new Lloyd Road School principal, a result of Luigi Laugelli's resignation after just one year of filling the position. Laugelli replaced the upper elementary school's longtime principal Patricia O'Keefe after her retirement last year. A new assistant principal was hired right before Laugelli's resignation was announced in June. This came less than a month after superintendent David Healy appointed Matthew Howell as the new principal of Matawan Aberdeen Middle School. Former principal Tyler Blackmore resigned in April, despite protest from the community.
Three teaching spots are also open, including music and English teaching positions at MAMS and a chemistry teacher position at Matawan Regional High School. The district is also looking for a new director of math and science K-12, who will form part of the central office administration.
