Police Do Not Suspect Foul Play in Death of Man Found in Abandoned Factory (UPDATE)
The man's identify and the cause of death have not been disclosed.
Updated 4:45 p.m.:
Investigators do not suspect foul play in the death of a man discovered at an abandoned factory near the Aberdeen-Matawan Train Station, according to Charles Webster, public information officer for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
The body was discovered in the factory the morning of Saturday, Jan. 19, Webster said. An autopsy performed that afternoon concluded that there was no foul play involved in his death.
The identity of the man and the cause of death were not available, Webster said. Webster would not confirm whether or not the man was homeless or why he was in the factory.
The abandoned factory is part of the designated train station redevelopment area in Aberdeen Township.
Officers from the Aberdeen Police Department, Matawan Police Department and Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office responded to the scene.
