Police: Cliffwood Man Charged with Burglary of Aberdeen Home
Police say he stole jewelry and other items from his neighbor's home.
A Cliffwood man is charged with allegedly breaking into a neighbor's home shortly after Christmas, according to the Aberdeen Township Police Department.
Aberdeen P.O. Edgar Serrano responded to a report of a burglary on Milton Avenue at about 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 27, according to Lt. Joseph Cole. The initial investigation found that a window was forced open and jewelry, perfume and clothes were stolen.
The follow-up investigation, conducted by Det. Lou Nanna and Sgt. Hank Chevalier, led to the arrest of Christian Mead, 23, also of Milton Avenue, according to Lt. Cole.
Mead faces three charges, including burglary, theft and criminal mischief. He was committed to the Monmouth Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail with no 10 percent cash option.
This is not the first time Mead has been charged by Aberdeen Township with theft. In October, he was indicted by a New Jersey grand jury on charges that he broke into three separate vehicles in Aberdeen during May 2012. From two cars he allegedly stole oxycodone and from a third car he allegedly stole $200 in cash.
Neither an arrest nor an indictment indicate a conviction.
