Monmouth County Schedules Multiple Paper Shredding Event
The first will take place in Hazlet on Saturday, Sept. 8
The following is a message from Monmouth County:
Six paper shredding events have been scheduled in local communities this fall to give residents opportunities to get rid of old documents and confidential files safely.
All shredding events will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. as follows:
- Saturday, Sept. 8 – Hazlet, 39 Leocadia Ct.
- Sunday, Sept. 15 – Spring Lake Heights, 1110 Hwy. 71 and Brighton Avenue, at Belmar Elementary School
- Saturday, Sept. 30 – Marlboro Department of Public Works, 1979 Township Dr.
- Saturday, Oct. 13 – Rumson Department of Public Works, 80 East River Rd.
- Saturday, Nov. 3 – Oceanport Municipal Complex, 222 Monmouth Blvd.
- Saturday, Nov. 17 – Manasquan, 4th Avenue parking lot and East Main Street.
“We are happy to provide these events for responsible paper disposal and to help residents reduce the potential for identity theft,” Freeholder Serena DiMaso said. “The county is proactively removing paper and other recyclables from the waste stream as a way to extend the life of the Reclamation Center in Tinton Falls. We appreciate residents doing their part.”
Residents may bring up to 100 lbs. of paper to be shredded. Documents should be free of large binder clips; staples and paper clips may be left on documents. All papers will be shredded on location in the mobile truck. The shredding event will stop once the shredding truck is full.
“The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders partners with municipalities to bring these events into the community,” Freeholder Lillian G. Burry said. “This is one of the great programs and services provided by the county’s Divison of Planning.”
