Meet the Matawan and Aberdeen Board of Education Candidates
On Nov. 6, voters will also have to select their board of education representatives.
Throughout this week, Matawan-Aberdeen Patch individually profiled each of the candidates seeking election to the Matawan Aberdeen Regional Board of Education.
New Jersey School Board Elections are normally held in April, however Senate Bill 3184, which was signed into law by Gov. Chris Christie in January, allowed school boards to combine their elections with the general election in November.
In February, the district voted to move the election, along with the majority of New Jersey school districts.
On Nov. 6, Matawan voters will be asked to select a representative for (1) three-year term, while Aberdeen voters will be asked to select representatives for (2) three-year terms and (1) one-year unexpired term.
Below is a list of local residents running for the open seats on the board of education separated by the municipality they live in and the term they are seeking. For more information on a candidate, click his or her name. Incumbents are marked with an (I).
