The Matawan Borough Council voted to waive construction fees for projects repairing Sandy related damage at their Nov. 20 meeting.

According to a letter issued by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, municipalities are permitted to waive fees for storm damage. If a municipality chooses to do so, then the state permit surchage fee is also waived.

I wish you the very best in your recovery. I have relatives who had 9 feet of water in their homes, and the damage water can do is both beyond belief and expensive to deal with. My prayers are with you!
