Matawan Seamstress Mary Ann Skorka Dies at 98
The Holmdel resident was a parishioner of St. Benedict R.C. Church.
Mary Ann Skorka, 98, of Holmdel, passed away Friday, Jan. 25 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Matawan, Mary worked as a seamstress for Matawan Undergarments. Mrs. Skorka was a parishioner of St. Benedict R.C. Church in Holmdel.
Surviving is her daughter, Marie Karpie and her husband Daniel; four brothers, Daniel, Carmen, John, and Anthony Falco; two sisters, Virginia Yaczina and Delores Ahlers; four grandchildren, Deborah Doxbeck and her husband Michael, Daniel Karpie and his wife Maggie, Susan Karpie, and Michael Karpie; and a great-granddaughter, Kimberly Doxbeck.
A Funeral Mass was offered for Mrs. Skorka at St. Benedict R.C. Church on Tuesday, Jan. 29. Arrangements under the direction of the Holmdel Funeral Home.
