Matawan Borough Council to Hold Municipal Budget Workshop

The Matawan Borough Council will hold a budget workshop for the 2014 municipal budget on Tuesday, March 19 at 7 p.m. at the Matawan Municipal community Center.
The meeting is open to the public.
The purpose of a workshop is to examine the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The next step will be to introduce the proposed budget and then at a later meeting, the council will hold a budget hearing and then vote on whether or not to adopt it.
In 2012, the borough council approved a $10,634,285.24 municipal budget, which was a $363,568.74 increase from the previous year.
