Matawan-Aberdeen Schools Closed Monday and Tuesday

Storm damage to schools will be evaluated Tuesday to see if additional closures are necessary, school officials say.

Public schools in Matawan and Aberdeen will be closed Monday and Tuesday due to Hurricane Sandy, according to Superintendent David Healy.

As of now, schools are scheduled to reopen on Wednesday. However, if the storm causes severe damage to the area or school facilities, additional closures may become necessary.

"We will conduct an assessment of the community and our facilities on Tuesday and let the community know regarding school openings on Wednesday," Healy said.
