No Garbage Collection Monday or Tuesday in Aberdeen

Township officials ask residents to not put garbage at the curb in anticipation of Hurricane Sandy.

Aberdeen Township has canceled garbage collection on Monday, Oct. 29 and Tuesday, Oct. 30 as Hurricane Sandy barrels toward New Jersey with winds forecast between 60 and 80 mph.

Garbage is normally collected in Cliffwood Beach, Cliffwood, River Gardens, Oakshades, Freneau and Heritage Estates on Mondays and Thursdays. It is normally collected on Tuesday and Friday in Strathmore, near the high school, Woodbrook Drive, Randall Way, Storyland, Santa Fe and Heather Glen.

The garbage collection is expected to resume its normal schedule on Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Matawan officials have also asked borough residents to refrain from placing garbage by the curb.
