Freehold Mall Allegedly Hit by Shoplifters

Nordstrom and the Apple Store alleged shoplifters attempt to take merchandise valued at over $500.

Straight down Route 79 from Matawan-Aberdeen, the Freehold Mall is a popular destination for many Monmouth County residents, but last week both Nordstrom and the Apple Store were allegedly hit by shoplifters, according to the Freehold Township Police Department.

According to a complaint warrant, on Thursday, June 28 Jeffery P. Jadach, 29, of Iselin, allegedly concealed six watches and two belts and knowingly attempted to leave the Nordstrom department store in the Freehold Raceway Mall. The merchandise was valued at $1,970.

In a separate complaint warrant, on Friday, June 29 Lawrence C. Grinage, 47, of Baltimore allegedly concealed a Duet 2 2x4 USB Audio Interface while walking out of the Apple store in the Freehold Raceway Mall. The device which allows users to capture recordings from their Mac computer is valued at $595.

Both complaint warrants explained that both men had a previous criminal history. They each face one charge of shoplifting and have been remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $5,000 bail.
