I miss Burlew's Pizzeria and Restaurant in Cliffwood. it was a great place to get pizza and beer. They had a wonderful cornbread crust pizza. The only place around here to get pizza and beer these days seems to be Bertucci's in Hazlet. I'm sure you can get a bar pie at many of the local bars, but that's not what I'm talking about.

I wish there was a Quiznos around here.

We should have a YMCA here with a full gym and pool.

In the recent Patch interview with the mayor, he mentioned that 84 Lumber had been purchased. I don't recall any specifics. Do we know what's going in there yet?

The seafood restaurant on Rte 35 between Cliffwood Avenue and the 7-Eleven in Laurence Harbor looks to be done or nearly so. Any word on that place, when it will open, etc?

I noticed a while back that Victoria's Cozy Corner Restaurant at the corner of Little Street and Main St was for sale. I used to love that place when it was Johnnie's Cozy Corner. Any chance that place will be re-invigorated?

How about an auto detail shop, or a oil change and lube station, like jiffy lube or express lube for the station area it might work well for comutters.

I think Keyport just has way too many commerical properties. A town like that can only support so many local businesses. However, since they are there already, i think you need to put things in there that will attract people and i believe the best way to do that is to bring in restaurants that would be new to this area or even region. I think a Bojangles would do great or In-and-Out burger, a legit BBQ place, Krystals, Jack in the Box, Zaxbys, Waffle House, Cracker Barrel, etc. In terms of stores, I like the trader joes idea but i dont think matawan or keyport are too appealing to those guys. Discount places like Christmas Tree shop would do well although no more dollar stores. I really do like the idea of investing in a nice YMCA. Its a bonus for the community and porperty values.

A Wendy's for Route 34. Cliffwood is too far from my part of town.

a self-serve Car Wash.
I could say Boston Market, but of course we had one where Roy Rogers had been and Kickys now occupies.

PS this isn't Keyport Patch. Just sayin'....
