Our best wishes go out to the cyclist injured in this incident. NJ doesn't have enough "share the road" signage, never mind road striping to alert motorists to watch for bicyclists. Joseph Ghabhour Associates offers a free book called "a basic guide to injured bicyclists" to help protect your rights while cycling.

How do you watch for a bicyclist crossing an intersection when you have a green light on a 50mph highway? Aren't they supposed to wait for a red light to cross?

Where in this article has blame been assessed? And one should always cross with a bicycle on a green light - not red -- and stick to the right side of the lane of travel, not the crosswalk.

I like how everyone is blaming the person on the bike..no one knows how it happened but with the way I have observed people texting while driving and even putting on makeup while driving it does not surprise me at all. With the high amount aberdeen charges us in taxes these roads should be already accomadating those that walk or ride a bike why should something tragic happen in order for something to be done. I was in the traffic yesterday as a passenger cause I dont drive and I witnessed this poor man on the road and it broke my heart, I thought of his family and I pray that he recovers my prayers and thoughts are with them

I live right up the street and I seen this accident on my way home. I feel for both parties involed. We pay a redicilious amount of taxes and half of us don't even have sidewalks in our neighborhoods. Sadly, its going to take a more serious accident for the township to finally do something about the pedestrians and bicylists on this side of aberdeen.

what is taxes have to do with somebody crossing the highway on a bicycle when they have the red light? I was taught that when I was 3 years old .
