A wrestler suffered a neck injury at a match held at Middletown HS North Friday night.
The wrestler was from Matawan, according to Middletown High School North Principal Patricia Cartier.
Matawan Regional HS Athletic Director Philip Tyburczy confirmed there was a match between the teams last night at HS North, but declined comment Saturday morning.
Medevac was initally called, but later cancelled, and the patient was ground transported by Port Monmouth First Aid to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with the medics, said Middletown EMS spokesman Bob Pfleger.
