Aberdeen Police Designate Target Enforcement Zones for 2013
Speeders beware: a mandatory court appearance will be required for traffic violations in these zones.
The Aberdeen Police Department will be keeping an extra eye on certain streets in the township.
According to a resolution approved by the township council at their Jan. 3 meeting, the purpose of the enforcement zones is to ensure the safety of the residents in those areas.
"Concerned residents along these designated areas should be assured that their safety is important and traffic flow throughot their neighborhoods will be closely monitored," the resolution states.
For the beginning of 2013, Ivyhill Drive, Van Brackle Road, Prospect Avenue and South Atlantic Avenue are the designated enforcement zones.
According to the resolution, a traffic violation in an enforcement zone will result in a mandatory court appearance.

Why is Van Brackle only 25 between 34 and Line Rd? Much of it has no houses on the South side of the road and it is so easy to go more than 25 there. At least we are warned - thank you.

This is nothing new. Ivyhill Road and Van Brackle Road have been targeted areas for years. I agree with Paul M--Van Brackle should be at least be 30 mph.
