Aberdeen PD: Identity Theft, Jewelry Stolen

A look at Aberdeen Police activity between Oct. 10 and Oct. 16.

Editor’s note: The following information was obtained from the Aberdeen Township Police Department. An arrest does not indicated a conviction.

The Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to or initiated 260 calls for service between Oct. 10 and Oct. 16, 2012, including 15 suspicious persons/vehicles; 19 alarms; 17 first aid calls; seven motor vehicle crashes; six thefts; one domestic violence incident, one noise complaint; one criminal mischief incident, four disorderly persons, four burglaries, and 71 motor vehicle stops, according to Police Chief John Powers. Officers also issued 45 motor vehicle summonses.

The Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests Oct. 10 through Oct. 16, 2012:

  • A 40-year-old Aberdeen man was charged with terroristic threats following an incident on Lorenzo Court on October 12. P.O. Anthony Marone was the arresting officer.
  • P.O. Martin Walsh arrested a 33-year-old Matawan man for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court on October 13.
  • P.O. Craig Hausmann arrested a 31-year-old Old Bridge woman for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court on October 15.
  • A 55-year-old Matawan man was charged with shoplifting following an incident at the Stop and Shop store, Hwy. 34, on October 15.  He was also arrested on a contempt warrant out of Keansburg Municipal court.  P.O. Jeffrey Griffith was the arresting officer.

  • On October 11 a resident of Margaret St. reported the fraudulent use of his debit card. P.O. Darryl Richardson responded.
  • On October 11 a large glass window was reported broken on a business located in the Aberdeen Townsquare shopping center, Hwy 34. P.O. Anthony Valentino investigated.
  • P.O. Darryl Richardson responded to a report of a disorderly person at Strathmore Gardens, South Atlantic Ave., on October 12.
  • On October 12 a resident of Fordham Dr. reported the fraudulent use of her identity. P.O. Matthew Lloyd responded.
  • On October 12 an Atlantic Ave. man reported someone entered his residence and took jewelry. P.O. Anthony Valentino and Det. Louis Nanna investigated.
  • On October 13 P.O. Darryl Richardson investigated the theft of money from a Lloyd Rd. residence.
  • P.O. Martin Walsh responded to a report of harassing phone calls on Prospect Ave. on October 13.
  • On October 14 a resident of Beacon Lane reported the fraudulent use of his debit card. P.O. Darryl Richardson responded.
  • A bicycle was reported stolen from the porch of a home on Seventh St. on October 14. P.O. Darryl Richardson investigated.
  • P.O. Christopher DeSarno responded to the burglary of a Matawan Ave. residence reported on October 14. Entry was gained sometime over the weekend by smashing a rear sliding glass door and an amount of jewelry was taken.
  • On October 15 it was reported that several gumball machines had been dumped behind a business on County Rd. P.O. John Young took the report.
  • Sometime during the day on October 15 someone attempted to gain entry to a West Prospect Ave. residence by prying open a front door. Special Officer Michael Scarpa investigated.
  • P.O. Anthony Marone and Special Officer Michael Scarpa responded to the attempted robbery of the Krauszer’s store on South Concourse on October 15. Anyone having information should contact the detective bureau at 732-566-2054.
  • On October 16 P.O. Mary Johnston responded to a report of check fraud at Livoti’s Market, Hwy. 34.
  • On October 16 a resident of South Concourse reported the fraudulent use of her debit card. P.O. Anthony Marone responded.
