Aberdeen PD Blotter: Several DWI Arrests Made

The following information was obtained from the Aberdeen Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to or initiated 318 calls for service between May 9 and May 15, 2012, including nine suspicious persons/vehicles; 13 alarms; 27 first aid calls; 12 motor vehicle crashes; six thefts; three disorderly persons; seven domestic violence incidents; five noise complaints; and 101 motor vehicle stops, according to Chief of Police John Powers. Officers also issued 88 motor vehicle summonses.

The Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests May 9, 2012 through May 15, 2012:

  • Michael E. Rosenthal, 40, of Saphire Lane, Matawan, was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving on May 10 after the vehicle he was driving struck a parked car on Fordham Drive at 1:43 AM.  P.O. Roger Peter was the investigating officer.
  • A 28-year-old township woman was arrested by P.O. John Young on May 10 for contempt of court out of Keyport municipal court following a motor vehicle stop on Church St.  She was also issued a summons for a suspended license.
  • On May 11 Christian C. Mead, 22, Milton Ave. Aberdeen, was after he entered vehicles parked on Garden Place and Ferndale Place and took prescription medication.  He was apprehended a short distance away by P.O. John Young.
  • Frank B. Ricci, 49, of Maxwell St., Aberdeen, was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breath test, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, DWI in a school zone, and reckless driving on May 11 after a motor vehicle stop on Myrtle St. at 2:44 PM.  P.O. John Young was the arresting officer.
  • Almaran Ramku, 25, of Rte. 516, Matawan, was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving on May 12 after a motor vehicle stop on Highway 35 at 1:11 AM.  P.O. Roger Peter was the arresting officer.
  • On May 13 P.O. Anthony Valentino arrested a 60-year-old Aberdeen man for simple assault and terroristic threats following an incident at Wellington Place.
  • On May 13 P.O. Matthew Lloyd arrested a 36-year-old Aberdeen man for contempt of court out of Aberdeen municipal court following a motor vehicle stop on Central Ave.
  • Edgaras Mazurevicius, 27, of Interlaken Ct., Aberdeen, was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breath test, and reckless driving on May 12 after a motor vehicle stop on Highway 34 at 7:18 PM.  P.O. Brian Alberti was the arresting officer.  He was also charged with criminal mischief after causing damage in the cell area while in custody.
  • On May 13 P.O. Anthony Valentino arrested a 51-year-old Aberdeen man for contempt of court out of Woodbridge.
  • On May 14 Det. Manny Carabel arrested a 44-year-old Matawan man for a theft that occurred at the Shop Rite store, Lloyd Rd., on April 15.
  • On May 14 P.O. Matthew Lloyd arrested a 51-year-old Middletown man for contempt of court out of Middletown municipal court following an incident at Aberdeen Townsquare, Highway 34.

  • The Aberdeen police are investigating the burglary of the Buy Rite liquor store located on Highway 35 and County Road.  Officers responded to an alarm at the store shortly after 5:00 AM on May 9, 2012 and found a rear door slightly ajar.  The owner reported that a quantity of cash and twenty-five cartons of cigarettes had been taken.  P.O. Craig Hausmann responded.
  • A resident of Ken Garden apartments reported that her social security number was being used fraudulently. P.O. Louis Nanna investigated.
  • On May 10 a resident of Edgeview Rd. reported the theft of his wallet, cash, and a GPS unit from his vehicle. P.O. Mary Johnston responded.
  • On May 10 P.O. Michael Lasko investigated the theft of real estate signs from a lot on Lower Main St.
  • On May 11 P.O. Michael Lasko responded to a report of criminal mischief on Courtland Ln.
  • On May 11 a resident of West Prospect Ave. reported the theft of a quantity of cash from her vehicle.  Sgt. Darrell Oliver investigated.
  • P.O. Michael Lasko responded to a harassment complaint on Arbordale Dr. on May 12.
  • P.O. Christopher DeSarno responded to a harassment complaint on South Atlantic Ave. on May 13.
  • On May 14 P.O. Raymond Campbell responded to a noise complaint on Milton Ave.  A local ordinance summons was issued.
  • Aberdeen Township Police are investigating the that took place while the resident was at home the morning of May 14, 2012.   P.O. Raymond Campbell, P.O. Anthony Valentino, Sgt. Darrell Oliver, and Sgt Henry Chevalier investigated.  They were assisted by Sheriff’s Officer Anthony Muscarella and his K-9 Nanook.
  • On May 15 a Haverford Ct. resident reported that someone attempted to use her credit card to make internet purchases.  P.O. Martin Walsh responded.
