Toe Party Lines With a Cup of Coffee at 7-Eleven
The national convenience store offers paper coffee cups that help you illustrate your political alliance.
7-Eleven convenience stores are straddling the political aisles with their new party-line coffee cups.
Customers in the store are not only choosing which flavor of coffee to fill their cups with, they are also casting a symbolic vote for the presidential election by choosing "Romney" or "Obama" cups.
The red and blue cups are a tradition in 7-Eleven, according to its website. The "7-Election" has supposedly helped predict the last three presidential elections.
“While we have never billed 7-Election as scientific or statistically valid, it is astounding just how accurate this simple count-the-cups poll has been – election after election. We have had a lot of fun with it, and I hope we have encouraged people how important it is to vote in the real election," said 7-Eleven, Inc. President and CEO Joe DePinto in a news release.
According to the release, the last two presidential elections were predicted by the 7-Election within less than one point margins.
Your vote is counted when the UPC code on the side of your cup is scanned.
