After an absence of five years, The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life returns to Matawan/Aberdeen on June 7-8, 2013.
Relay for Life of Matawan held it's Kickoff Party at Matawan Regional High School on Tuesday, February 19th. Chairs Eric Friedman & MRHS Assistant Principal Mike Wells, with help from the MRHS Staff, introduced the crowd to what the American Cancer Society does with the money raised from their nationwide Relays, including ACS's on going attention to Superstorm Sandy victims who need to get support, treatment and help.
The attendees learned how to form a team, browsed the tables to learn about how local businesses can contribute, how to form a team, how to fund raise effectively and learned about the moving Luminary Ceremony that occurs at every Relay Walk.
The crowd also learned this year's theme... THE BOARDWALK! Entertainment and boardwalk games will be part of the June 7- 8 overnight event at Matawan Regional High School.
