Fosters & Donations Desperately Needed for Animal Victims of Hurricane Sandy

Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue has received dozens of calls from frantic pet owners who have lost homes due to the destruction of Sandy.

These are the heartbroken and desperate, who must now find homes for their beloved pets because they can no longer provide shelter for them. Some need temporary homes, others will have to give up their pets because their future is too unsettled.

  • Immediate foster or permanent homes needed for 2, 1-year-old Beagles. Family lost everything.
  • Foster homes needed for 5 labs, a dachshund and possibly St. Bernard. Families must relocate but are hoping to be able to take dogs back in time.

These are just a few of the dogs needing temporary or permanent homes at this time. More calls are pouring in every day.

Please go to our website and fill out an application to foster or adopt.

Donations of pet supplies, dog clothing, blankets, beds, and food are being accepted by The Yellow Rose Diner on Rt. 36 in Keyport for Castle of Dreams. The Yellow Rose is also accepting donations for the human victims of Sandy.

Is there any help needed at the shelter itself with the animals? I would love to be able to help out with their care! Marie from Port Monmouth

If you have any nonshedding small dogs, I can take one. I have two malteses. Allergies abound in my house so I cannot take any shedding dogs. Contact me at paragon22@verizon.net.
