Bayshore Community Hospital is pleased to announce that Anthony V. Cava, FACHE, chief operating officer at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, NJ, recently became a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the nation’s leading professional society for health care leaders.

Cava, a Meridian Health executive and health care veteran, brings more than 30 years of extensive experience to his leadership role at Bayshore. Cava is responsible for the day-to-day operations and functioning of the hospital, while guiding the strategic development of a cadre of programs and services at the hospital.

Hogan, FACHE, regional president of Bayshore Community Hospital and Riverview Medical Center. “Over the past few years, Tony has developed programs that have effectively changed the face of Bayshore Community Hospital, making it the hospital of choice for both physicians and patients alike. By becoming an ACHE Fellow, Tony has further shown his commitment to providing high-quality service to our patients and the communities we serve.”

Fellow status represents achievement of the highest standard of professional development. In fact, only 8,500 health care executives hold this distinction. To obtain Fellow status, candidates must fulfill multiple requirements, including passing a comprehensive examination, meeting academic and experiential criteria, earning continuing education credits, and demonstrating professional and community involvement. Fellows are also committed to ongoing professional development and undergo recertification every three years.

A resident of Manalapan, NJ, Cava holds a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and a master’s of science degree in Clinical Pharmacy and Administration from St. John’s University, College of Pharmacy and Allied Health. Prior to joining Bayshore’s sister hospital Riverview Medical Center in 2004, Cava held several executive and management positions at leading hospitals and health care systems in New York and New Jersey.
